Minister
Scott and Nicole Brand
come to Pennsylvania from Virginia, where both of
them graduated from
high school in the Hampton Roads (Tidewater) Ar ea.
Scott, born in
Kentucky, traveled the globe with his family supporting his father’s
naval career, while Nicole was born and raised in Norfolk. Scott’s
family finally settled in Norfolk when his father retired from the U.
S. Navy after twenty years of honorable service. It was in Norfolk
that Scott met, and subsequently
fell head over heels
in love with, Nicole and where they began their lives joined in
marriage nearly twenty-two years ago. During those years, God has
blessed
them with four
amazingly wonderful daughters; Rachael 20, Sarah 18,
Hannah 16 and Abigail
7.
After working
more than eighteen years in Heavy-Construction, God opened
the door for Scott to
attend Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he
graduated with honors in 2002 earning a Bachelor of Science degree
in Bible and
Preaching. Upon graduation, he was ordained into Christian ministry
and began his first full-time ministry at Bethany Christian Church in
Bumpass, VA as their
Associate and Youth Minister, where he has faithfully served since.
In January of 2009,
the Brand’s answered the call to serve the Lord with the Body of
Christ at Howard Christian Church where they are eager to witness the
great works that God will do in them and through them as they seek to
serve
Him here.
Minister to Senior Adults
Charles W.
(Chuck) Salmon, Our Minister to Senior Adults, is a retiree with
nearly fifty years’ experience in Christian ministry. His experience
include s
new Church planting, institutional chaplaincy in both long term care
and psychiatric
institutions, missionary
ministry,
Bible college administration, and journalism. He is a graduate of
Atlanta Christian College and has studied at Lincoln Christian
Seminary, the University of Illinois, and the University of Houston.
He has held
ministries
in Georgia, Illinois, Wisconsin, Texas, and Pennsylvania.
Brother Chuck is a capable writer whose
byline appears frequently in the Lock Haven Express. Mrs. Salmon
(Shirley) is also a graduate of Atlanta Christian College. She is
trained in early childhood development and has served as a teacher and
administrator in parochial schools and Head Start. The
Salmon’s have two grown sons, both of whom are ordained Christian
Ministers. Their youngest son, Steve, ministers to the First Church of
Christ in Lock Haven. They have six grandchildren.
