Jr./Sr. High Youth Children's Ministry Junior Worship

The Jr./Sr. High Youth Group is comprised of youths in grades 6-12.  The

purpose of our group is not just to talk about God, but to actively walk with Him

each day as we experience all He has planned for our lives.  We do this by living according to God's word, the Bible.  Our theme Bible verse, 1 Timothy 4:12,

helps us stay focused on our purpose.

This verse states:

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but

set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love,

in faith and in purity." (NIV)

Our group meets each Wednesday evening during the school year.  The

group spends time singing together and then splits into two separate

groups for Bible study and fellowship time.  The Jr. High youths (grades 6-8)

are lead by Alison Wian and John Rougeux.  The Sr. High youths

(grades 9-12) are lead by Scott Gettig.

In addition to our Wednesday evening activities, our youths remain active

with these events:

Youth Sunday - youths plan and conduct an entire Sunday Worship Service,

Mission Trip - a five day/night trip to the Christian Children's Home of Ohio,

Bake Sale - youths sell baked goods prepared by members of our

congregation to raise money or the missions trip,

Archery Tournament - youths provide a concession stand and help for the

Church's annual tournament,

Church Camp - a week of Biblical fun and fellowship at Sylvan Hills Christian

Service Camp,

Elderly Home Care Visits - including annual Christmas Caroling,

White Water Rafting - a two day adventure in Ohiopyle State Park,

Capture The Flag Night - an evening cookout and energetic game at a local farm,

Snow Mountain Golf - you have got to see this to believe it!,

                         And many other fun activities!

  Our group is made up of youths that attend three different school districts;

Bald Eagle Area, Bellefonte, and Central Mountain.  Our average attendance

has grown from 7-12 in 1999 to 30 this year (2008), with 27 youths attending

our Mission Trip in June.
